The Need Continues
In today's challenging economic climate, demand on our food pantry services remains very high. We are now serving over 200 families every Tuesday. We are picking up an average of 8,000 pounds of food each week from the Greater Chicago Food Depository. In 2011:
- 5,183 different individuals received food
- An average of 820 families (2,590 individuals) received food each month
- Over 46,600 bags of food were distributed - that's over 466,000 pounds of food!
- 498 new families/individuals registered to receive food
Donations of canned vegetables, soup, fruit, and tuna are needed and are always appreciated, especially during these challenging economic times. Monetary donations are also appreciated. We hope you keep the Food Pantry on your giving list. Click here to donate online.
Matching Funds Months Are Here!
This year the Feinstein Foundation will again match a percentage of
all money donated to food pantries during the months of March and April.
So...this would be a great time to make your donation to CBS
Anti-Hunger! Please turn in your donations by April 27 to give us time
to deposit the gifts by the end of April.
All in-kind donations of food given during March and April will be
valued at $1.00 per item/per pound for application toward the Feinstein
grant. Click here
