About Us
Our Vision: We believe that no one in our
communities should ever suffer due to hunger.
Our Mission: As part of the global effort to
eliminate hunger, the CBS Anti-Hunger Foundation exists to reduce hunger
in our communities by collecting and distributing supplemental food and
other good to those in need, and by providing resources to help our
clients attain self-sufficiency.
Our Values:

- We regard all people – staff, volunteers, clients and supporters – with dignity and respect.
- We believe that cooperation is crucial – we all need to work together.
- We act out of beliefs from our faith traditions.
The CBS Anti-Hunger Foundation is a member of the Greater Chicago
Food Depository and serves the communities of Cicero, Berwyn, and
Stickney, Illinois.
The CBS Anti-Hunger Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations
are tax deductible as allowed by law.

Those We Serve:
- In 2006 we served 12,356 families (36,411 individuals) at our two pantry sites
- In 2006 we registered 1,005 new families as clients
- 66% of our clients are from Cicero, 32% from Berwyn, 1% from Stickney, and 1% from other areas
- 44% of our clients are female, 56% are male
- 50% of our clients are 18 years old and younger, 6% are senior citizens
- 63% of our clients are Hispanic, 29% are Caucasian, 6% are Afro-American, and 2% are of other ethnic heritage
- Over 700,000 pounds of food are distributed each year
- 795 children received gifts for the Christmas holiday
Financial Information:
- 56% of our support comes from donations from churches, businesses, individuals, schools, and organizations
- 36% of our support is grant funding for designated projects
- 5% of our support is realized from local fund raising activities
- 3% of our support is labor credits at the Greater Chicago Food Depository
- 85% of our expenditures are for program expenses (food acquisition and distribution)
- 14% of our expenditures are for administrative costs
- 1% of our expenditures are for fund raising expenses
