Some of our Current Volunteer Opportunities:
- Food Pantry Volunteers:
The number of families served by the food pantries has increased substantially in the past several months. People are needed a few hours a week at both locations - on Tuesdays at CBS I and on Wednesdays at CBS II. Duties range from food bagging to client intake. No experience necessary!
- Grant Writer:
We are in need of someone willing to assist in grant writing. Experience is desired but not required. Training and other resources are available.
- GCFD Volunteers:
A group of people supporting our food pantries volunteers at the
Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) every Wednesday evening. Our
pantries receive a $5 food credit for every hour they work. In 2005, we
received $1,718 in food credits through their efforts. Daytime and other evening hours are available.
